We will make an appointment to
visit your home. (ring for price) During our visit approximate dimensions will
be taken. Using a Laptop computer we will produce drawings to your requirements.
We will also produce a full-personalized specification to suit both the property
and your individual needs. As we are Fenestration Surveyors we work to Building
Regulations and all necessary British Standards ensuring that you are protected
in many ways such as fire escape and ventilation etc.
With your permission, these drawings and specifications are forwarded directly
from your home to our office or prepared at a later date following which they
will forwarded out to tender to at least two of our "Approved" companies who we
consider to be suitable for your requirements. This is based on where you live
and what product we consider is suitable for the property. We will leave details
of the chosen companies with you including the representatives name and copies
of the drawings and specification we have agreed.
The approved companies will contact us and advise us of the prices. We will
check these prices and then contact you accordingly. This not only protects them
from making expensive mistakes but also protect you. Their prices will be based
on the information we have provided to them and will be subject to a full survey
by the company concerned. Any changes to our details will without doubt change
the prices.
If these prices are suitable and within budget we recommend that you advise us
of your intentions and we will arrange for a representative of the chosen
company to call to see you, the representative will also bring a sample of the
product for your approval.
If you are satisfied with the product and the presentation then we recommend
that you place the order. The company concerned will fax Derek Waller Services a
copy of the contract, which will confirm your order.
All of our Approved Companies offer an Insurance Backed Guarantee. This is to
protect you if the company concerned go into liquidation. If you choose to
purchase this Guarantee the document will be issued on completion and payment of
the installation.
In order to protect your interests a copy of the Insurance Backed Guarantee
document is then forwarded to Derek Waller Services. This indicates that the
installation is complete and the Insurance Backed Guarantee has been received.
Should an inspection be required by Derek Waller Services then when you are in
receipt of the Insurance Backed Guarantee contact the office to arrange a
mutually agreed appointment. It should be noted that this is a free service and
therefore the inspection will only be carried out when we are in your area and
is also subject to cancellation at short notice. The company have 28 days to
contact and confirm the appointment to carry out any work listed this report.
You will also receive a Fensa document on completion to confirm the windows have
been installed in accordance with the requirements.
We charge the company
concerned a small commission if you place an order. If you were buying windows
from a double-glazing company you could be paying the representatives commission
of anything up to 15% of the net value! The charges we make to the company
concerned simply cover the costs of our return visit to inspect after the
installation and any reports and follow ups that may be required.
